Family Chronicles is a sole trader business operated by Fernanda Felix, providing photo digitisation and storytelling services.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use our services. We are committed to handling your data responsibly and in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
For the purposes of data protection law, Family Chronicles acts as the Data Controller.

We collect data when you contact us (by email, phone, or through our website), submit materials for digitisation, request recording services, or engage with us as a customer.

We process your personal data for the following purposes and on the following legal bases:
To fulfil our contract with you: processing your order, delivering your digitised files and products, and communicating with you about your order.
Legitimate interests: managing customer relationships, maintaining business records, and ensuring service quality.
Consent: for audio and video recordings, and for any use of your data beyond core service delivery. You may withdraw consent at any time (see Section 8).
5. How We Use Your Data
We use your personal data to:
Provide our digitisation and recording services
Communicate with you about your order
Deliver completed files and products
Maintain internal business records
Respond to enquiries and support requests
We do not sell or share your personal data for marketing purposes. Your images and recordings are treated as private and confidential and will not be used for promotional purposes without your explicit consent.
6. Data Sharing
We may share your data only where necessary to deliver our services, for example with delivery or courier services, or with secure IT/storage providers. Any third party we share data with is required to handle it securely and in accordance with data protection law.
We do not transfer your data outside the UK.
7. Data Retention
Digital files and recordings: retained for 90 days after delivery, then securely deleted.
Customer contact and order records: retained for up to 6 years for business and legal purposes (e.g. tax records), then securely deleted or anonymised.
8. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:
Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Have inaccurate data corrected
Request deletion of your data
Restrict or object to how we process your data
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@familychronicles.uk. We will respond within one month.
Withdrawing consent does not affect any processing already carried out, and may affect our ability to complete services in progress.
9. Data Security
We take appropriate measures to protect your data, including secure storage, access controls, and encrypted digital storage where appropriate. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If our website uses cookies or analytics tools, we will provide details via a cookie banner or separate Cookie Policy on the website.
